Hello There!

10.26.23 NEW MUSIC ALERT!

Hi Everyone! While I've been at this singing gig for a while holding down what I call my "soulful folk" style, this is my first bit of new recorded music in a while! I wrote the tune "Fireworks" a couple of years ago and I’ve finally finished recording it in the studio. I enlisted the help of my band mate Ethan Bender (hubby and bassist), drummer Jeno Somlai, and WAMI-winning keyboardist Dave Adler (also this song’s producer) for this project. Some of you might might have heard the band perform it at our shows. Special SHOUT OUT goes to Kevin Arndt who mixed it masterfully at The Exchange.

Here’s a bit of history about my song "Fireworks"! I have a long-standing relationship with fireworks- from my dad lighting shady (probably illegal, lol) bottle rockets in our backyard when I was young to 4th of July trips to Lake Michigan with my guy Ethan, my kiddos, and siblings, watching people and stars from an over-sized comforter. A "spark" of inspiration came as I thought- there's something super simple and sweet about a fireworks display...I mean, everyone seems happy seeing lights dancing in the sky, right? In a world where there are currently SO many divides, a good ol' fashioned light show can bring us together. Take a look around next time you're watching one. I smile when I watch fireworks. I love on my family when I watch fireworks. And I wanted to capture that sentiment in a song.

If you like the new tune, please give it a THUMBS UP, leave a sweet comment, download it, and spread the word (and music)! There will be more new songs to come!

Love, peace, and happiness,
